For the first time Khairatabad’s tallest Ganesh immersed by afternoon

The annual Ganesh Navratri festival has come to an end in the State capital Hyderabad and suburbs on Thursday.

The immersion of Ganesh idols took place even though the weather was unfavourable and witnessing of intermittent drizzling.

Ganesh idols procession has started in the morning starting from 8 am from various parts of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

The devotees in ecstatic manner have danced to the Teenmar drum beats and bhajans in the immersion rally.

Hyderabad city has created history as for the first time largest Ganesh idol from Khairatabad moved from its venue at 8 am and immersed into the Hussainsagar lake by 2 pm.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy along with his team has made elaborate security arrangements for the peaceful and smooth conduct of Ganesh immersion procession.

Over 25,000 police personnel have been deployed reportedly.

Reports said that Police from nine districts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and also from Central para-military forces (8,722) have been deployed for the purpose.

23 bomb disposal teams, two access control teams,23 sniffer dogs have been reportedly placed.

Over 12,000 CCTV cameras have been reportedly installed.

Over 400 Mobile Parties have been posted for smooth conduct of the Ganesh Festival.

The number of Ganesha idols permitted this year was 11,094 ,where as the figure for last year was 10,980 Ganesh idols .
