Following the repeated telecasts of TV9 media highlighting the public woes on Hyderabad roads, the municipal administration minister K Taraka Ramarao took the charge seriously.
Minister KTR has immediately rushed to the areas, where roads are seen in a pathetic condition.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal corporation MayorBonthu Rammohan , deputy mayor Fasiuddin, concerned officials and local MLAs have accompanied the minister.
IT Minister KTR, who landed in Hyderabad overnight after completing his successful US tour to bring industry to the State, moved in the streets of Yousufguda, Punjagutta, Srinagar Colony and other places on Monday to see the horrible condition of the roads dug up on the pretext of laying underground cable work.
For kilometres together, the roads have been dug up to a depth of 3 to 6 ft.
The minister wanted to talk to cable-laying team , but they were not available at the moment.
It is learnt that the lack of coordiantion between the cable-laying and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal corporation is stated to be the reason for the miserable condition of the roads.
The minister wanted to know who would be responsible if schoolchidren, old men were to fall into the open pits, which are generally filled with drain and rain water.
He has advised the available construction workers to fill the pits immediately.
