81-year-old patient is first in Hyderabad gets world’s smallest pacemaker
World’s smallest pacemaker has been implanted in an 81-year-old patient in Hyderabad.
Bharat V Purohit, chief of Interventional Cardiology of the Continental hospital in Hyderabad said that this leadless smallest pacemaker was implanted through the groin area and added that they later fixed directly to the walls of the heart.
The smallest pacemaker has started giving electrical signals for maintaining a normal heart rate.
The smallest pacemaker is the size of a capsule.
