Bob Saget, the popular ‘Full House’ TV dad, died at the age of 65.

Bob Saget, the actor-comedian best known for his roles as adored single father Danny Tanner on “Full House” and as the wisecracking presenter of “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” died while on tour. He was 65 years old.

Saget went on tour in Florida with his “I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour.” He rejoiced online after receiving great crowd reactions to his performances Friday in Orlando and Saturday in the Ponte Vedra Beach resort region.

“I’m back in comedy like I used to be when I was 26.” “I guess I’m discovering my new voice and loving every minute of it,” he said on Instagram on Saturday.

Bob Saget’s family members announced in a statement Sunday that they are “devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob died away tonight…. Though we respectfully want solitude at this time, we encourage you to join us in honouring Bob and the love and fun he contributed to the world.”

Saget was born on May 17, 1956, in Philadelphia, to Benjamin, a supermarket executive, and Rosalyn, a hospital administrator. He graduated from Temple University and briefly studied cinema at the University of Southern California.

He dropped out of college but stayed in Los Angeles, where he began doing stand-up comedy, which led to tiny gigs in TV and cinema until finding fame with “Full House.”

Saget was planning to begin his comedy tour in early 2020 until the epidemic halted it. He devoted his time to a podcast called “Bob Saget’s Here For You,” which allowed listeners to comment and ask him questions.

Saget also worked as a filmmaker, most notably with Norm MacDonald in the cult classic Dirty Work from 1998.

Throughout the 1990s, Saget was a familiar face on American television screens as the father Danny Tanner on Full House and the presenter of America’s Funniest Home Videos.

According to TV producer Norman Lear, Saget was a personal friend who “He was as kind as he was amusing. And he was, in my opinion, hilarious.”

“I’m at a loss for words when it comes to Bob Saget. I adored him and consider myself extremely fortunate to have worked with someone so amusing, soulful, and compassionate “said Craig Thomas, co-creator of How I Met Your Mother.

Saget and his first wife, Sherri Kramer, had three children, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer, before separating in 1997. In 2018, he married Kelly Rizzo.

Tributes from Saget’s co-stars and friends flooded in on social media.
