Robert Morse, Broadway Star, Dies at 90

Actor Robert Morse, who began his career on Broadway before landing a role on ‘Mad Men,’ has died at the age of 90.

Morse won a Tony Award for his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Younger audiences, on the other hand, will recognise him from the AMC TV show Mad Men, in which he portrayed Bertram Cooper, an advertising entrepreneur and founding partner of Sterling Cooper.

He received five Emmy nods for the part. Morse was also nominated for an Emmy in 1993 for a PBS “American Playhouse” production of his one-man performance “Tru,” which was about Truman Capote.
