‘Supermoon’ to Dazzle India Tomorrow
A ‘Supermoon’ will captivate the skies over India tomorrow, Monday.
The moon will appear in a striking blue hue and larger size. This was revealed by the American space agency, NASA.
NASA has stated that this Supermoon can be observed at different times in various countries from Monday morning until Wednesday morning.
However, it mentioned that the Supermoon will be most visible on Tuesday morning.
This is the first Supermoon of the year, and in India, it will be visible from the night of August 19th until the morning of August 20th.
The term ‘Supermoon’ was first coined by astronomer Richard Nolle in 1979.
A Supermoon occurs when the full moon comes within 90% of its closest approach to Earth.
During a Supermoon, the moon appears significantly larger than during a regular full moon.
