Latest news Novak Djokovic-Australian gov’t cancels Novak Djokovic’s visa for second time-2022
The Australian government cancels Djokovic’s visa for the second time, citing the tennis player’s unvaccinated status as a risk to the community.
Novak Djokovic is facing deportation after the Australian authorities cancelled his visa for the second time.
Djokovic’s visa was once again revoked by Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, who invoked his discretionary powers.
“Today, I invoked my discretion under section 133C(3) of the Migration Act to revoke Mr Novak Djokovic’s visa on health and good order grounds, on the premise that it was in the public interest,” Hawke said in a statement.
Djokovic’s attorneys are anticipated to file an appeal in the Federal Circuit and Family Court, as they did with the initial cancellation.
