Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu’s Unusual New Year Request Explained

No Celebrations, No Greetings: Ayyanna Patrudu Honors National Mourning

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayanna Patrudu has made a significant decision ahead of the New Year. He requested that no one visit him personally to convey New Year wishes.

This decision was made as a mark of respect following the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The Central Government has announced seven days of mourning in his honor.

Considering the situation, the Speaker felt it would be inappropriate to celebrate New Year during this period of national mourning. He appealed to individuals to refrain from meeting him in person on January 1 to convey wishes.
