Six Wickets to Glory: Jasprit Bumrah on Brink of Cricket History
Team India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been delivering a stellar performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Shouldering the bowling responsibilities for the Indian team, he has been a nightmare for the Australian batting line-up.
So far, in the four Test matches of the series, Bumrah has taken an impressive 30 wickets at a stunning average of 12.83. His achievements include three five-wicket hauls and two four-wicket spells.
As the final Test match of the series is set to take place in Sydney, Bumrah stands just six wickets away from breaking a long-standing all-time record. If he takes these six wickets, he will become the Indian bowler with the highest wickets in a single Test series, surpassing the current record held by legendary spinner BS Chandrasekhar. Chandrasekhar had claimed 35 wickets in a five-match Test series against England during the 1972-73 season.
Bumrah’s performance in Sydney could rewrite history by breaking this 52-year-old record.
