Karimnagar Tragedy: SI Ends Life Days After Wife’s Suicide
A deep tragedy has been reported from Karimnagar district, where a Police Sub-Inspector allegedly died by suicide after being unable to cope with his wife’s recent death and the tense developments that followed.
The officer, Chandrasekhar, who worked as the Karimnagar Two Town SI, reportedly took his life by hanging at his in-laws’ home in Seethampeta, Illanthakunta mandal.
According to reports, Chandrasekhar married Divya (30) in 2016, and the couple had two sons. Divya had been suffering from stomach pain for some time. On the 18th of this month, she allegedly consumed a mixture made using oleander (ganneru) flowers and leaves and informed her parents over the phone. She was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad, where she later died during treatment.
After Divya’s death, emotions reportedly ran high during her last rites. Some villagers allegedly accused Chandrasekhar of being responsible and attempted to attack him, but Divya’s father intervened and stopped the situation from escalating.
Sources say Chandrasekhar was deeply distressed by his wife’s death and the subsequent events, and allegedly took the extreme step today. With both husband and wife dying within days, their village is now in mourning—and their two children have been left without parents.
