Turbo Movie Review-Mammootty Delivers Gripping Action and an Engaging Plot

Turbo Movie Review: Unexpected Twists Drive the Narrative of Mammootty’s Latest Film

Mammootty continues to compete with younger actors, even at this stage of his career, delivering back-to-back films.

As a producer, he is also consistently releasing movies. His latest film, Turbo, is produced under his own banner, Mammootty Kampany, and was released in theaters on May 23rd, receiving a positive response from his fans.

Starting today, this movie is available for streaming in Telugu on SonyLIV.

In the film, Mammootty plays the character of Jose, who lives with his mother in a village. His friend, Jerry (Shabareesh Varma), works at a bank in Chennai. Jerry falls in love with Indulekha (Anjana Jayaprakash), who is a manager at another bank in the same city.

Her parents and sister live in a nearby village. During the annual festival in their village, trouble usually brews, prompting Jose’s mother to consider sending him away to another village.

However, due to an incident involving Jerry, Jose ends up in a fight with some local thugs. Jose discovers that Jerry and Indulekha are in love and that she is set to get engaged to someone else the very next day.

Understanding that Jerry’s father was behind the attack on him, Jose confronts Indulekha’s parents and brings her back to Jerry’s house.

Frightened by his father, Jerry pretends not to know Indulekha, leading her to angrily leave for Chennai. When Jose learns that her father has filed a kidnapping case against him, he travels to Chennai in search of Indulekha.

There, he requests her to visit his village and clarify the situation at the police station. Upon realizing that the police are searching for him, Jose decides to stay in Chennai and finds a job as a driver to support himself.

Meanwhile, Jerry, who has resumed his duties at the bank after the festival, discovers a scam involving 100 crores, orchestrated through the accounts of deceased individuals.

He identifies the mastermind behind the scam as Shanmug Sundaram (Raj B Shetty). Realizing that this scam could affect Indulekha’s bank as well, Jerry tries to warn her, but she refuses to listen due to her anger towards him. Subsequently, Jerry dies under suspicious circumstances.

Jerry’s death leaves Indulekha devastated. She is also attacked during this period, further worrying Jose.

Around the same time, Sitara, who worked with Jerry at the bank, reveals to Indulekha about the 100-crore scam and informs her that Shanmug Sundaram is responsible for Jerry’s death.

The rest of the story revolves around who Shanmug Sundaram is, what he does, and how Jose and Indulekha deal with the unfolding events.

The story begins with a rowdy gang murdering a young couple on Diwali, leading to a series of questions: Who were this couple? Who killed them, and why?

The director gradually reveals these answers, keeping the audience engaged as they follow the narrative. The screenplay stands out as a highlight of the movie.

Mithun Thomas’ story, filled with unexpected twists, captivates the audience.

The portrayal of Mammootty as Jose, combined with comedy and action, is impressive. Raj B Shetty’s character, with his unique body language, adds to the appeal. The film’s twists and turns unfold naturally without relying on cinematic clichés.

Despite Mammootty not having a romantic lead opposite him, the absence isn’t felt.

The audience enjoys the continuous twists from the pre-climax to the climax.
