Vasamsetti Subhash: Jagan Harassed Own Party Leaders, Not Just Opposition

Jagan Demanded Prostration from Party Members, Claims Vasamsetti Subhash

Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister Vasamsetti Subhash has alleged that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy harassed not only opposition leaders but also members of his own party during his term as Chief Minister.

Speaking at Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s birthday celebrations held on Sunday in Gandigunta village, Uyyuru mandal, Krishna district, Vasamsetti made several claims regarding his experiences in the YSRCP.

He stated that he had been an active member of the YSRCP for ten years and was promised a seat in the Legislative Council. “Had I accepted the MLC post, people would have thrown stones at me,” Vasamsetti Subhash said.

Recalling the events that followed the offer, he said that when he approached Dhanunjay Reddy regarding the appointment, he was asked to perform a full prostration before Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said he was stunned by this request. He also expressed surprise upon learning that Minister Venu, who belongs to the same district, had reportedly done the same.

Vasamsetti Subhash alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy developed a grudge against former Member of Parliament Raghurama Krishnaraju because he did not address him as “sir” and once sat casually with one leg over the other in his presence. He claimed that Jagan ran the government in isolation from a dark room, relying only on a small group of close aides.

According to Vasamsetti, Jagan believed he would return to power, but was met with resistance from his own party members who, frustrated with his leadership, expressed their dissatisfaction through their vote. He accused Jagan of resorting to false propaganda against alliance leaders after facing an unexpected electoral outcome.

He further criticized Jagan for failing to fulfil the promise of ₹1 crore in flood relief assistance during the Budameru floods, alleging that the amount remains unpaid. Despite his wealth, Jagan lacks a spirit of public service, Vasamsetti Subhash claimed.
