Hyderabad Metro Rail Aids Heart Transport, Covering 13 km in 13 Minutes

Hyderabad Metro’s Rapid Transit Saves Lives with Efficient Heart Transport

The Hyderabad Metro played a key role in saving a life by transporting a donor heart for a transplant surgery. The heart was moved from Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar to Gleneagles Global Hospital in Lakdikapul, covering 13 kilometers in just 13 minutes. To make this possible, a special “green corridor” was created, allowing the train to bypass 13 stations along the route.

The heart was transported at 9:30 PM on Friday night, using a dedicated metro train. Officials said the metro was chosen to avoid delays caused by Hyderabad’s heavy traffic. Careful planning and coordination helped ensure the heart reached its destination quickly, leading to a successful surgery.
