With music by Keeravani, the film is now streaming on Amazon Prime from June 14th.
Plot Summary:
The story revolves around Arjun (Ashish Reddy) and his brother Pratap (Ravi Krishna), who run a YouTube channel. Arjun’s daring stunts and experiments earn their channel a good response.
Fearless and determined, Arjun never backs down and always completes his tasks, regardless of the risks involved.
Arjun aims to prove that ghosts don’t exist and tries to debunk these myths publicly. One day, Pratap’s lover Priya (Vaishnavi Chaitanya) brings up a story about an incident at the Andhra-Karnataka border, where a ghost named ‘Divyavati’ supposedly haunts an abandoned apartment.
Priya explains that after everyone left the apartment due to the ghost, the place turned into a desolate area resembling a forest. Some people claimed to have seen the ghost in the apartment’s balcony, and those who attempted to research Divyavati’s life ended up dead.
Intrigued by this story, Arjun decides to visit the haunted place to see the ghost, talk to it, and if possible, even romance it. Despite Pratap’s warnings, Arjun sets off alone. People try to stop him, but he proceeds to the abandoned apartment, now a deserted place.
Arjun enters the apartment at midnight, seeking to uncover the truth. He encounters unexpected situations that challenge his disbelief in ghosts. What does he discover about Divyavati? What role does Priya play in leading Arjun to this haunted place? These questions drive the suspense in the plot.
Analysis:
The director starts the narrative by mentioning a couple in ‘Ramachandrapuram’ and then shifts to the main plot involving the haunted apartment.
The film maintains a horror theme throughout, with attempts to scare the audience right from the beginning. Despite some romantic expectations from the audience, the film remains firmly within the horror genre.
Ashish’s character, though portrayed as fearless, lacks the natural human response to fear, making the character less relatable. The first half of the film provides clarity on the unfolding events, but the second half becomes somewhat confusing.
Vaishnavi Chaitanya’s significant role in the second half is anticipated, but her absence in much of the first half disappoints the audience, especially those expecting a romantic angle.
Technical Aspects:
The film boasts high production values. P.C. Sreeram’s cinematography stands out as a major highlight. Keeravani’s background score adds to the film’s strength.
Editing by Santosh Kamireddy is satisfactory. The storyline and the final twists are engaging, although the narrative in the middle section may confuse the audience.
The lack of humor and the overly serious tone of the protagonist are notable drawbacks.
