New Airports: Six New Airports Planned in Andhra Pradesh

The coalition government in power in Andhra Pradesh has focused its attention on the construction of new airports in the state.

The government has prepared proposals for the construction of six new airports and has allocated necessary funds. A budget of ₹1.92 crore has been released for conducting feasibility studies.

The proposed locations for these new airports include Kuppam, Srikakulam (Palasa), areas near Nagarjuna Sagar, Ongole, Tadepalligudem, and Tuni-Annavaram.

To facilitate the construction, the government has identified land at these sites: 1,501 acres in Kuppam, 1,670 acres near Nagarjuna Sagar, 1,123 acres in Tadepalligudem, 1,383 acres in Palasa, Srikakulam district, 657 acres in Ongole, and 787 acres in Tuni-Annavaram.

In light of the allocated funds, the Andhra Pradesh Airport Development Corporation MD has been instructed to complete the feasibility studies as quickly as possible.
