Rohit Sharma Surpasses Dhawan to Become Second-Highest Run-Scorer

With just two wins from eight matches, CSK now finds itself at the bottom of the points table. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have significantly strengthened their playoff chances with this victory.
Rohit Sharma emerged as the star of the match, scoring an unbeaten 76 runs. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award. This was his 20th Player of the Match award in IPL history, making him the Indian cricketer with the most such accolades in the league.
With this achievement, Rohit Sharma ranks third overall in IPL history for Player of the Match awards. He trails only AB de Villiers, who has 25 awards, and Chris Gayle, who has 22. Virat Kohli follows Rohit in fourth place with 19 awards.
Rohit Sharma also climbed to second place in the list of all-time highest run-scorers in the IPL. By overtaking Shikhar Dhawan’s tally of 6,769 runs, Rohit now stands at 6,786 runs. Virat Kohli continues to lead the chart with a total of 8,326 runs.
