In the IPL 2025 season final, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Virat Kohli created a new milestone. In the clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Tuesday, Kohli became the player with the most fours in IPL history, achieving this rare feat during the high-stakes encounter.
Kohli, who stepped onto the field aiming for his first IPL trophy, surpassed Shikhar Dhawan to claim the record. Before the match began, both Kohli and Dhawan were tied with 768 fours each in IPL history.
However, in the 4th over of RCB’s innings, Kohli hit a boundary off PBKS bowler Kyle Jamieson, thus surpassing Dhawan. It is noteworthy that Dhawan had retired from all forms of cricket last year.
Kohli scored 43 runs in the match, including three boundaries, taking his total to 770+ fours, making him the only player in IPL to cross this landmark.
