71st MISS UNIVERSE CROWNING MOMENT! | Miss Universe-2023
The Miss Universe pageant crowned a new winner this year and it was none other than 28-year-old Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel, a fashion designer from Houston, Texas. This pageant was a special one for Gabriel as she had to drive for four hours from her home to participate, but it was all worth it as she emerged victorious.
Gabriel is a unique beauty queen as her father is Filipino and her mother is American. This diversity is something she embraces and hopes to use to her advantage as the new 71st Miss Universe 2022. In an interview, Gabriel stated that she wants to use her title as Miss Universe to be a “transformational leader.”
The judges were impressed with Gabriel’s fiery bikini and cape performance, but it was her final question that sealed her fate. When asked, “If you win 71st Miss Universe, how will you work to demonstrate this is an empowering and progressive organization?” Gabriel replied, “Well, I would use it to be a transformational leader. As a very passionate designer, (having) been sewing for 13 years, I use fashion as a force for good. In my industry, I’m cutting down on pollution through recycled materials when I make my clothing. I teach sewing classes to women that have survived human trafficking and domestic violence. And I say that because it is so important to invest in others, invest in our community, and use your unique talent to make a difference. We all have something special, and when we plant those seeds (in) other people in our life, we transform them, and we use that as a vehicle for change.”
Gabriel’s answer demonstrated her understanding of the pageant’s mission and how she plans to use her platform to make a positive impact. This was enough to impress the judges and earn her the title of 71st Miss Universe 2022. It’s been eleven years since the USA has won the pageant, and Gabriel’s victory is a reminder that beauty queens can also be powerful leaders.Regenerate response
