Google to Visakhapatnam Soon… Announcement by CM CBN (Chandrababu Naidu)

Amaravati: Chief Minister CBN (Chandrababu Naidu) participated in the ‘V-Launchpad 2025 – Startup Expo’ hosted at VIT University in Amaravati. During the event, CBN inaugurated newly constructed buildings and engaged in a detailed interaction with students.

Reaffirming his commitment to balanced regional progress, CBN stated that his administration is working with a vision to ensure equitable development across all areas of Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized that Visakhapatnam will be developed as the economic capital of the state, while Tirupati will emerge as a spiritual city. He highlighted that specific development plans are being executed to support comprehensive growth.

Outlining key initiatives for Visakhapatnam, CBN announced that the city will soon witness the launch of a new airport and metro rail project. He disclosed that global technology leader Google is also set to establish operations in Visakhapatnam. Referring to the city’s existing steel plant, CBN stated that ArcelorMittal has come forward to invest approximately ₹1 lakh crore in Anakapalli.

CBN also underscored strategic development initiatives for Rayalaseema. He assured the construction of a steel plant in the region and shared plans to transform the corridor from Lepakshi (Anantapur district) to Orvakal (Kurnool district) into a knowledge hub. The Chief Minister explained that Rayalaseema will be advanced in critical sectors including defence, electronics, automobiles, drone technology, satellite launching, and green energy. Stressing the potential of drones, CBN announced the creation of a specialized Drone City in Orvakal.

Speaking on the national front, CBN commended the progress of the hardware sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ program. He noted that the current value of India’s hardware industry is USD 130 billion, with the potential to reach USD 500 billion. CBN expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh will benefit significantly from this growth.

CBN Interacts with Students at VIT

During the session, VIT students raised questions related to development in Amaravati, new educational institutions, and the integration of IT and AI in the state. Responding to them, CBN stated that his government is actively working to uplift all sectors and eradicate poverty while providing employment and livelihood opportunities for the youth.

He cited figures like N.T. Rama Rao, B.R. Ambedkar, and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam as examples of individuals who achieved greatness from modest beginnings, encouraging students to follow a path of perseverance and service. CBN emphasized that politics, for him, has always been a means of service, warning against unrealistic expectations of overnight success. He stated that those who work diligently and progress step by step will ultimately succeed.
