AP High Court grants regular bail to Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh High Court granted regular bail to former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the AP State Skill Development Corporation scam case.

The single-judge Bench made the interim bail ‘absolute’, which was originally granted on October 31 for medical reasons.

Naidu, initially on four-week interim bail, was due to report back to Rajahmundry Jail on November 28, but now relieved from this obligation.

Justice T. Mallikarjuna Rao ordered Naidu‘s release on regular bail based on the already furnished bail bond.

The court relaxed restrictions on Naidu’s participation in public rallies and meetings from November 29.

Naidu is directed to submit medical reports to the Special Court, Vijayawada by November 28.

The case involved discussions around the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Naidu’s role in the alleged scam.

Summary: Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was granted regular bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in connection with the Skill Development scam, with eased restrictions on his public engagements and a requirement to submit medical reports.
