Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu advised his cabinet colleagues on recent developments in Delhi. He urged them to speak cautiously on sensitive issues, noting that even well-intentioned statements could be misrepresented. He cited an example, saying his remarks on agriculture were misconstrued despite his positive intent.
Naidu pointed out that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar did not receive due recognition during the Congress regime, recalling that Ambedkar lost elections during their rule. He credited former Prime Minister V.P. Singh for installing Ambedkar’s statue in Parliament premises. He emphasized the need for a broader discussion on who truly recognized Ambedkar’s contributions.
The backdrop of Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks is the Congress party’s sharp criticism of Union Minister Amit Shah’s statements on Ambedkar. Tensions escalated in Parliament, leading to clashes between BJP and Congress MPs, resulting in injuries and hospitalizations. Amidst this, Naidu’s comments gained prominence.
CM Chandrababu Naidu stressed the need for accountability within the coalition government, instructing ministers and MLAs to improve their performance. He revealed that feedback was being gathered through the IVRS system on ministerial and governmental performance.
He expressed disappointment that only three ministers—Nimmala Rama Naidu, Gummadi Sandhyarani, and Kondapalli Srinivas—had submitted their self-appraisals over six months. Chandrababu Naidu urged ministers to go beyond office work and increase field visits.
He also criticized ministers for underutilizing social media and called for value-driven politics, warning against a vengeful approach in governance.
