Indian Head Coach Gautam Gambhir Temporarily Leaves Tour, Expected Back for Second Test
Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has reportedly left the ongoing Australia tour to return to India due to a family-related emergency.
Sources indicate that Gambhir is likely to rejoin the team in Australia ahead of the second Test (Day-Night Test) scheduled to begin in Adelaide.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy features a five-match Test series, with India currently leading 1-0 after a commanding victory in the first Test held in Perth.
India secured a massive win by 295 runs, boosting their chances in the World Test Championship final race.
Meanwhile, the Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, is set to travel to Canberra tomorrow for a two-day pink-ball practice game.
Team India officials confirmed that Gambhir will not be available for the practice session scheduled for Saturday.
