Tokyo Olympics: Kamalpreet Kaur storms into women’s discus throw final-India In Olympics

Kamalpreet Kaur, an Indian discus thrower making her Olympic debut, placed second in the qualifying round.

She has blasted into the final of the women’s discus at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday.

The 25-year-old from Patiala, Punjab, with a best throw of 64 metres.

Krishna Poonia’s throw at the 2012 London Olympics was 63.62 metres.

Kaur’s performance was much superior than Poonia’s.

She and another discus thrower have outperformed the other competitors by reaching the qualifying mark of 64m.

On August 2, the final round will be played. Kaur has a chance to earn a medal for India.
