Royal Challengers Bangalore Triumph Over Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 Final

IPL 2025 Final: RCB Win First IPL Trophy After 18 Seasons, Beat Punjab Kings by Six Runs

In a historic triumph at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a dramatic final clash of IPL 2025. With this victory, RCB ended an 18-year-long pursuit of the coveted trophy, fulfilling the long-standing dream of millions of their fans.

Since the inception of the IPL in 2008, RCB had been relentlessly striving for the championship, often falling short. However, on Tuesday, their consistent efforts bore fruit as they clinched the title with a collective performance against Punjab Kings in the final.

Batting first, RCB set a target of 191 runs. In response, Punjab Kings had a promising start, with their openers scoring 31 runs without loss in the first 3.4 overs. But in the fifth over, Josh Hazlewood dealt the first blow to PBKS by dismissing Priyansh Arya for 24 runs, reducing Punjab to 43 for 1.

Following this breakthrough, RCB bowlers gradually tightened their grip on the game. At the end of the 15th over, Punjab stood at 119 for 4, with Shashank Singh (10 off 9 balls) and Nehal Wadhera (14 off 13 balls) at the crease. With 72 runs needed from the final 30 balls, the required run rate had surged to 14.40.

RCB’s bowlers maintained disciplined line and length under pressure, intensifying the pressure on Punjab’s batting lineup. As PBKS batters attempted big shots, they lost wickets in quick succession, failing to chase down the target within the allotted overs.

Despite a spirited final-over effort by Shashank Singh, who remained unbeaten with 61 runs off 30 balls, including three fours and six sixes, Punjab Kings fell short by six runs. The disciplined and unified effort by RCB’s bowlers dismantled the opposition’s batting order and sealed a memorable victory for the franchise.

This landmark win sparked celebrations among RCB players, management, and fans, finally putting an end to the team’s elusive title quest and carving a glorious chapter in the tournament’s history.
