Jr NTR reveals why his ‘RRR’ persona gives him a surge of excitement
When asked about the movie offers he had to renounce because of this pan-Indian period picture during the debut of the ‘RRR’ trailer in Mumbai on Thursday, Jr NTR had a ready answer, which was like a compliment to filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli.
“Do you suppose someone could approach me and offer me a project while I was working on a Rajamouli picture?” NTR Jr retorted.
“When you work with Jakkanna, this does not happen in the industry. ‘Aisa nahi hota hain,’ he says.” NTR Jr and others in Tollywood affectionately refer to Rajamouli as ‘Jakkanna.’
NTR Jr also stated: “You’ve been there a long time, you know. The earlier you embrace it, the better.” He astounded the journalists with his perfect Hindi and sharp wit.
NTR Jr had this to say about his character: “Some historical heroes’ stories have stayed with you since you were a youngster. Take, for example, Robin Hood. Playing Bheem transported me back in time.
The Young Tiger will play Komaram Bheem, a Gond chieftain who resisted the Nizam’s authority in the 1930s.
