KL Rahul’s Controversial Dismissal in Perth Test Sparks Debate

KL Rahul: Controversy Over Dismissal in Perth Test—Here’s the Video!

A controversy has erupted over KL Rahul’s dismissal in the first Test against Australia in Perth, part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Rahul was caught behind off Mitchell Starc’s bowling. The ball, delivered with good length, was defended by Rahul but went straight into wicketkeeper Alex Carey’s hands.

The bowler appealed, but on-field umpire Richard Kettleborough ruled it not out. Australia immediately opted for a review.

Replays showed a clear spike on UltraEdge, indicating that the ball might have brushed the bat’s edge.

However, there was ambiguity due to unclear visuals and uncertainty about whether the sound came from the ball hitting the bat or from the bat hitting the pad.

With no definitive front-on angle available, it became difficult to make a clear decision.

Despite this uncertainty, third umpire Richard Illingworth overturned the on-field decision and declared Rahul out.

Rahul expressed significant dissatisfaction with the decision. He appeared frustrated that the third umpire didn’t check another angle.

While the replays suggested a possible edge, there wasn’t conclusive evidence. Rahul, visibly disappointed, shook his head in disbelief as he walked off the field.
