Legal Blow to KTR as Quash Petition Dismissed by High Court

KTR’s Quash Petition Rejected by Telangana High Court in ACB Case

The Telangana High Court has dismissed the quash petition filed by BRS leader and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), delivering a setback to him.

KTR had approached the High Court seeking to quash the FIR registered against him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with alleged corruption during the Formula E race event held in Hyderabad.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court had reserved its judgment. On Tuesday morning, the court pronounced its verdict, rejecting KTR’s quash petition and considering the arguments presented by the ACB in support of the FIR.

According to the ACB, there were violations of rules during the organization of the Formula E race, and funds were transferred to foreign entities without obtaining necessary approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

KT Rama Rao is accused of misusing his official position, and the ACB claims that government officials made payments amounting to ₹55 crore under his verbal orders at the time. The case revolves around alleged procedural lapses and unauthorized financial transactions.
