1-Punjab police urge people to “Maintain Peace” after Amritpal Singh was apprehended following a 36-day manhunt.

Following a 35-day manhunt, Punjab police detained separatist leader Amritpal Singh on Sunday. Amritpal Singh gained national prominence in February when he and his supporters assaulted the Ajnala police station brandishing wooden batons, swords, and firearms to demand the release of his imprisoned aide. Amritpal Singh has been on the run since last month. Singh was taken into custody in Moga, the Punjab State Police announced on Sunday.

2-Bangladesh and India abandon the dollar; Rupee-Taka trade will take its place

The two close neighbours have made the decision to stop using the dollar in their trading.

The local currencies of both nations will be used to settle transactions.

3-At the SCO meeting, India will host the defence ministers of China and Russia for the first time.

The SCO Summit meeting will take place on April 28 in New Delhi, as announced by the defence ministers of China and Russia. In the midst of the LAC stalemate and the Russia-Ukraine war, this will be Li Shangfu and Sergei Shoigu’s first visit of this kind. A day prior to the major meeting, Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, will also host the two ministers for a bilateral.
