According to media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has purchased a Mercedes-Maybach S650 armoured automobile for Rs 12 crore.

Among other advantages, this luxury saloon has VR10-level protection (the highest level of armoured protection).

The prime minister’s former cars, a Range Rover Vogue and a Toyota Land Cruiser, have been replaced with the special purpose vehicle.

According to the storey, the prime minister was first spotted in the car at Hyderabad House, where he had gone to greet Russian President Vladimir Putin, who had visited the country earlier this month.

The high-protection automobile can withstand explosions and gunshots due to its improved glass and body shell.

In the case of a gas attack, the interior of the vehicle is also outfitted with a separate air supply.
