Viral Celebration Styles: Nitish Kumar Reddy’s Pushpa and Baahubali Moments

Nitish Kumar Reddy on His Test Century: “A Tribute to the National Flag”

As part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the fourth Test match at the prestigious Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) witnessed a stellar performance by Telugu cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Batting at No. 8, Nitish scored a brilliant century, saving Team India from the danger of a follow-on. Videos of him celebrating his half-century in “Pushpa” style and his century in “Baahubali” style have been trending on social media.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, achieving his maiden Test century, shared his emotions for the first time. He revealed that seeing his father in tears after the milestone was a moving moment. “I always dreamt of making him proud,” Nitish said.

Explaining his “Baahubali pose” after reaching the century, he said, “I placed the bat upright on the ground and kept my helmet on it. The helmet carries the national flag, and I saluted it as a mark of respect.” He added that representing India is his biggest motivation and called this century an unforgettable moment in his career.

Nitish also praised Hyderabad pacer Mohammed Siraj, who played a crucial role in helping him achieve the final run for his century. “Do you know something? Siraj always carries the mindset of ‘I can do it.’ He has strengthened that attitude further. I’m so happy,” Nitish remarked.

The journey to his century wasn’t easy. With Nitish stranded at 99, two consecutive dismissals of Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah had everyone anxious. Siraj, stepping in as the last wicket, carefully defended three balls and handed the strike back to Nitish. The latter then smashed a boundary to complete his incredible century, leaving cricket fans in awe.
