Pawan Kalyan Highlights Love for Books at 35th Vijayawada Book Festival

Pawan Kalyan Reflects on Education and Reading at Vijayawada Literary Event

At the 35th Book Festival organized by the Vijayawada Book Festival Society, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan shared personal reflections about his education and love for books. Speaking at the Cherukuri Ramoji Rao Literary Stage during the event, he revealed that he stopped his formal education after completing his Intermediate because he didn’t find the kind of learning he desired in classrooms or books at that time.

Explaining his decision, Pawan Kalyan said, “It’s not that I couldn’t study or secure good marks. I was a good student, but the education I wanted wasn’t available in the curriculum. I learned from books, but the classroom setting didn’t appeal to me.” He also referred to Rabindranath Tagore, who educated himself at home without attending formal school, as an inspiration for his path.

Pawan Kalyan credited his parents for instilling in him a habit of reading. He emphasized the importance of books, stating, “If you have books, you might not even need teachers.” He confessed that while he discontinued formal education, his love for reading never ceased.

Highlighting his passion for books, he remarked, “I wouldn’t hesitate to give away a million rupees, but giving away a book is a different matter. To me, giving away a book feels like giving away a part of my wealth.” He mentioned that he prefers to buy books for others instead of lending his own, as his personal collection is very dear to him.

Concluding his speech, Pawan Kalyan reflected on how his life would have been different without his reading habit. His words inspired the audience, emphasizing the transformative power of books and self-education.
