The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champion, have taken crucial steps by appointing England’s Phil Salt as the replacement for Jason Roy for the 2024 IPL season. The much awaited season starts from March 22.
According to sources, Roy withdrew due to personal reasons, and it paved the way for Salt, who previously played for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 season, Needless to say, that Salt had produced commendable performances despite the team’s overall struggles.
Salt was in the news recently for his achievements that included scoring two T20I centuries against the West Indies, highlighting his exceptional talent and form.
KKR Team will begin their pre-season camp in Kolkata on March 15, their first match has been scheduled against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 at Eden Gardens.
