PM Modi meets union ministers, BJP chief-Cabinet Expansion, reshuffle likely

PM Narendra Modi recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Party President JP Nadda.

According to reports, Modi has been meeting with Union ministers including Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, and senior party leaders over the last few days to assess the government’s performance over the last two years and to discuss a variety of issues.

Cabinet growth is on the horizon.

The series of meetings could be a warm-up for an expected Cabinet expansion and reshuffle, but no official word has been issued.

According to reports, some new ministers will be appointed, while others will be positioned and changed based on their performance.

MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, former Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Apna Dal leader Anupriya Patel, and some leaders of the Janata Dal (United), the second-largest component of the BJP-led NDA, are all expected to be appointed.

There are also indications that some ministers will be let go.

These issues have sparked political wrangling among party leaders.
