Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad Wins Prestigious National Award for Pollution-Free Initiatives

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport located in Shamshabad, Hyderabad has been honored with another national award, according to an announcement made by the airport authorities on Monday.

The airport was awarded the ACREX Hall of Fame National Award in the pollution-free commercial building category competition held recently in Delhi.

Representatives from GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) received the award.

The representatives mentioned that their goal is to develop the airport into a carbon emission-free facility by the year 2030.

Up to now, the Shamshabad Airport has been awarded five times with the National Energy Leader, nine times with the Excellent Energy Efficiency Unit, and six times with the ACI Green Airport Awards.
