A student, struggling to pay his college fees, tagged Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant on X (formerly Twitter), requesting financial help.
Pant’s response quickly went viral on social media. However, the twist came when the student announced that he would return the money Pant had given him.
The student, named Karthikeya Maurya, shared a Ketto link on his X account and requested Pant’s assistance.
He wrote, “Hello, I am Karthikeya Maurya, studying engineering at Chandigarh University. I have been working part-time as an SEO specialist to support my education without burdening my family. Due to a lack of stable income over the past few months, my studies have come to a halt. Your help could change my life.”
Pant responded by helping the student and reposted, “Keep striving to fulfill your dreams. God has good plans for you.”
Following this, many netizens on social media expressed their anger towards the student. Some trolled him, asking, “Don’t you feel ashamed to deceive a national-level player?”
In response, the student posted on X, stating, “I can’t bear so much hatred. There is no option to refund on Ketto. I have emailed them. As soon as I get permission, I will return the money. Sorry!”
