Actor-Director Satish Kaushik Dies At 66
The sudden and unexpected death of Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik has left the film industry in shock. Kaushik, who wore many hats in the Hindi film industry as an actor, producer, comedian, and screenwriter, passed away at the age of 66 in the national capital Delhi. His nephew, Nishaan Kaushik, informed BBC Hindi that the actor suffered a heart attack on Thursday morning while visiting a friend in a Delhi suburb. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Kaushik was a multi-talented artist who acted in several iconic Hindi films, including Ram Lakhan, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, and Mr India. He also directed films such as Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Prem, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, and Tere Naam. Kaushik’s journey in the film industry started after he graduated from Kirori Mal College in Delhi University and went on to study at the National School of Drama.

The news of Kaushik’s demise was announced on Twitter by his friend and colleague Anupam Kher, who expressed his deep sorrow and grief. “A sudden full stop on [a] friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH,” Kher wrote. The loss of Satish Kaushik is not just a personal loss to his friends and family but also a huge loss to the Indian film industry.
