New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh’s textile sector is set for a major boost as five leading companies are preparing to invest ₹2,000 crore, according to Handlooms and Textiles Minister S. Savitha. These investments are expected to create 15,000 jobs, providing a significant opportunity for employment in the state.
Speaking at the International Bharat Tex 2025 Exhibition in New Delhi, Minister Savitha confirmed that the state government will soon sign MoUs with these companies. She engaged with several domestic and international investors, showcasing Andhra Pradesh’s potential under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Key Investment Announcements
Leading organizations like Advanced Textiles Association, ITMF, and Moscow Chambers of Commerce have expressed interest in setting up operations in Andhra Pradesh.
Karnataka-based investors have shown enthusiasm for Emmiganoor Textile Park.
Guntur Textile Park has agreed to establish a textile warehouse in Russia.
Bharat Tex 2025: A Global Opportunity
The four-day exhibition, held from February 14 in New Delhi, saw participation from delegates representing 126 countries. Minister Savitha highlighted that the event provided new avenues for textile investment and enhanced marketing opportunities for handloom products.
She quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “Khadi is a nation… Khadi is becoming fashion,” and emphasized that textiles are the second-largest employment sector after agriculture in India.
Upcoming Investment Summit in Andhra Pradesh
Building on the momentum from Bharat Tex 2025, Minister Savitha announced plans to organize a textile investment summit in Andhra Pradesh soon. She reiterated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is focused on developing the textile industry, ensuring a business-friendly environment with incentives and infrastructure support.
She also noted that several major companies have already established operations in Andhra Pradesh, making it a prime location for future investments.
