‘Game Changer’ to release worldwide on January 10: SJ Suryah shares insights

SJ Suryah describes the brilliance of Shankar’s direction in ‘Game Changer’

The highly anticipated film ‘Game Changer’, starring global star Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, is directed by acclaimed South Indian filmmaker Shankar. Produced under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations, Zee Studios, and Dil Raju Production, the movie is slated for a worldwide theatrical release in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi on January 10. As part of the promotional activities, actor SJ Suryah shared his experiences of working on the film.

Working with Shankar:

SJ Suryah revealed that the opportunity to act in ‘Game Changer’ came directly from Shankar. “He called me for the role, and I followed his instructions on set. My performance impressed him, and he later offered me a role in ‘Indian 2’ as well. Every actor dreams of working with Shankar because he demonstrates each character’s nuances. If you perform as he directs, the result on screen is magical,” said Suryah.
Experience with Ram Charan:

Praising Ram Charan’s acting prowess, SJ Suryah said, “Ram Charan is not just a global star but also a phenomenal actor. He portrays various shades in ‘Game Changer’ with great skill. As an IAS officer, he looks elegant, and his portrayal of the character Appanna will be memorable. He has delivered an extraordinary performance.”

Working as an Actor without Director’s Interference:

When asked if his directorial instincts ever emerged during filming, Suryah responded, “When playing a role, the focus should be solely on acting. I concentrated on my performance without distractions. Shankar is a visionary director, and people like Rajamouli have spoken highly of him. He has the ability to instill confidence in producers that a story can be brought to life successfully.”

Meeting Pawan Kalyan:

Speaking about meeting Pawan Kalyan at a pre-release event, Suryah expressed his joy. “It was a special moment when our Deputy CM, Pawan Kalyan, attended the event. When he spoke about me, I was overwhelmed. Hugging him was an emotional experience. He still carries the same ideology he had during the ‘Kushi’ days, and it’s now understood by everyone.”

Plot Overview:

SJ Suryah hinted at the film’s plot, saying, “‘Game Changer’ revolves around the conflict between an honest IAS officer and a corrupt politician. The way Shankar has crafted and narrated the story is something that audiences must experience in theatres. The film is going to be spectacular, with elements that will entertain everyone.”

Challenges During Filming:

Reflecting on the challenges faced during the shoot, Suryah noted, “I prepared extensively before arriving on set. Whether it was dialogues or scenes, I ensured I was ready. Dubbing, especially in Hindi, was tough since I am not fluent in the language. However, I delivered it well. Even those watching the film in Hindi will appreciate my dubbing.”

Special Features in ‘Game Changer’:

SJ Suryah emphasized that every character in the movie is well-crafted by Shankar. “I haven’t seen the entire film yet, but I have watched some rushes. The scenes featuring Ram Charan and me are impressive and will provide a thrill to the audience. Recently, I saw the song ‘Jaragandi’. Initially, I felt disappointed when the lyrical video didn’t meet my expectations, but after watching the full song, I was amazed. The visuals are so grand that it feels like the ticket price is worth it just for that song.”

Future Directorial Plans:

When asked about directing again, SJ Suryah stated, “I am currently enjoying acting and have no immediate plans to direct. However, I recently met Akira Nandan, Pawan Kalyan’s son, on a flight to Rajahmundry. If fate allows, and the opportunity arises, something may happen in the future.”

Dil Raju’s Production:

Commenting on Dil Raju’s involvement, Suryah said, “Dil Raju is more than just a producer who invests money. He frequently visits the sets, supervises every department, and resolves issues promptly. His storytelling acumen is commendable, and he always speaks his mind. He spent a significant amount on this film, especially on the ‘Jaragandi’ song. The audience will understand its grandeur once they watch it in theatres.”
