Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy approached the CBI court today, filing a petition seeking permission to travel abroad. It is known that Vijayasai Reddy is one of the accused in the case concerning the assets of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Currently out on bail, Vijayasai Reddy requires court approval for any foreign travel due to the ongoing legal proceedings.
In his petition, Vijayasai Reddy sought permission to visit Norway and France, stating that his foreign trip is scheduled from February 10 to March 10.
The court, after taking note of the plea, deferred further hearing to January 27 to seek the response of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the case.
This development comes shortly after Vijayasai Reddy announced his decision to step away from politics. He is also expected to submit his resignation from his Rajya Sabha membership tomorrow.
