Despite failing to perform in the recent 3-match Test series against New Zealand at home, young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has answered critics with his bat in the series against Australia.

After being dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the Perth Test, Jaiswal made a stunning comeback in the second innings.

Facing world-class bowlers like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood, he reached the brink of a century.

Alongside KL Rahul, he established a solid opening partnership of 172 runs. Jaiswal is currently unbeaten on 90 runs, with a strong chance of reaching his century on the third day.

In the second innings, Jaiswal faced a total of 193 balls, scoring 90 runs with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

This performance earned him a world record for the most sixes in a calendar year in Test cricket. Including the two sixes hit in the Perth Test, Jaiswal’s tally for 2024 reached 34 sixes, breaking the previous world record of 33 sixes set by New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum in 2014.

Most Sixes in a Calendar Year in Test Cricket:
