Akbaruddin Owaisi sworn in as Protem Speaker
MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi was sworn in as the Protem Speaker of Telangana’s third Legislative Assembly.
The oath was administered by Governor Tamilsai at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan on Saturday.
Akbaruddin vowed to perform his duties with Allah as his witness.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and former Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy were present at the event.
Other attendees included Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Seethakka, and former minister BRS leader Harish Rao.
According to Article 178, Akbaruddin will serve as Protem Speaker until a new speaker is elected by the legislature.
As the most senior assembly member, Akbaruddin was given the responsibility of Protem Speaker.
