Charlapalli Terminal Gains New Routes and Special Trains for Sankranti

Special Sankranti Trains to Operate from Charlapalli Terminal

The South Central Railway has announced that two key trains—Hyderabad-Chennai Central (Train No. 12603/12604) and Secunderabad-Gorakhpur (Train No. 12589/12590)—will now depart from the newly developed Charlapalli terminal instead of their current stations. This change will come into effect starting from March 12, 2025.

Additionally, starting from January 7, 2025, several express trains will have scheduled halts at Charlapalli terminal. These trains include:

Secunderabad-Sirpur Kagaznagar Express (Train No. 12757)
Sirpur Kagaznagar-Secunderabad Express (Train No. 12758)
Guntur-Secunderabad Express (Train No. 17201)
Secunderabad-Guntur Express (Train No. 17202)
Secunderabad-Sirpur Kagaznagar Express (Train No. 17233)
Sirpur Kagaznagar-Secunderabad Express (Train No. 17234)

Officials have noted that this decision is aimed at improving connectivity and easing congestion at Secunderabad and Hyderabad railway stations.

Furthermore, in view of the Sankranti festival rush, the South Central Railway is operating 52 special trains between January 6 and 18, 2025. Some of these special trains will also operate from the Charlapalli terminal starting today.
