1-Georgia passes a historic motion denouncing Hinduphobia, making it the first state in America to do so.
Georgia is the first state in America to have approved a resolution denouncing “Hinduphobia.”
The resolution, which condemned anti-Hindu bigotry, noted that Hinduism is one of the oldest and largest faiths in the world, with more than 1.2 billion adherents spread across more than 100 nations.
Representatives Lauren McDonald and Todd Jones from Forsyth County in Atlanta, which is home to one of Georgia’s biggest Hindu and Indian-American populations, introduced the resolution.
2-Pakistan suffers tragedy as crowds in Karachi are crushed, killing a dozen people.
According to officials, a deadly stampede occurred at a Ramzan food distribution facility in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi on Friday, killing at least 12 people, including women and children, and injuring many more. When food was being distributed, some people unintentionally stepped on a live wire, which caused the stampede that resulted in the disaster. People soon began pushing one another, which led to some even falling into a nearby drain, according to officers.

A Romanian judge has decided that controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate and his sibling Tristan will immediately be placed under house arrest rather than in custody. The most recent time of detention, which was set to end on April 29, has been replaced by the Court of Appeal’s decision in Bucharest, and two associates, Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, have also been freed. Unless they have legal authorization to leave, all four of them have been told to remain in the residences they currently occupy.
