1-Karnataka election: How state-level politics have altered in India since the BJP took office

The BJP was in charge of nine states and union territories as of May of this year. However, the BJP also has 6 additional states in a coalition. It now has direct and indirect influence over 15 states. Only 7 states were under BJP control in 2014, the year Narendra Modi took office.
