1-Karnataka election: How state-level politics have altered in India since the BJP took office
The BJP was in charge of nine states and union territories as of May of this year. However, the BJP also has 6 additional states in a coalition. It now has direct and indirect influence over 15 states. Only 7 states were under BJP control in 2014, the year Narendra Modi took office. The Congress, on the other hand, lost six of its 13 states from 2014 to 2022. Five further assembly elections will take place in the nation this year. We’ll have to wait until the end of this year to assess how India’s political climate has changed as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections inch closer.
