Rishi Sunak inching closer to UK PM post? Ex-Minister retains lead in 4th round of voting

In the most recent voting by Conservative MPs to select a new prime minister, Rishi Sunak, a former finance minister of Britain, once again came out on top after another candidate was dropped from the running.

Former defence minister Penny Mordaunt came in second with 92 votes, followed by foreign secretary Liz Truss with 86 votes.

Longshot candidate Kemi Badenoch placed last with 59 votes and was thus disqualified from the race.

The final round is likely to be on Wednesday leaving just two candidates
