Telangana High Court Adjourns KTR’s Case to 4 PM After Rejecting Lawyer’s Presence Request
In a setback for BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Telangana High Court has rejected his plea to allow his lawyer to accompany him during the inquiry in the Formula E car case. KTR had earlier filed a lunch motion petition seeking permission for his lawyer to be present in the inquiry room.
After hearing the petition, the High Court made it clear that there was no need for KTR’s lawyer to sit with him inside the inquiry room.
The court stated that the lawyer would not be allowed inside but could remain nearby, at a distance where KTR could see him. Additionally, the court instructed KTR’s legal team to provide a list of three lawyers who could be present outside the inquiry room.
The High Court also questioned whether there was any specific rule under the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) guidelines that required a lawyer’s presence during the inquiry process.
Responding to this, the Additional Advocate General informed the court that a response would be given by 4 PM. Following this, the court adjourned the case for further hearing at 4 PM.
