Police Officer in Trouble as Viral Selfie with Cash Raises Questions
Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao – Ramesh Chandra Sahani, a police officer in the Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh, is the subject of controversy after a selfie of his family posing on a bed with heaps of cash went popular online. The total sum visible in the image is thought to be around Rs 14 lakh.
Senior officials have started an investigation because they are curious about the source of the hefty money. The goal of the investigation is to identify the source of the funds and discover whether any irregularities are present. Sahani has been relocated to Police Lines while authorities continue their investigation.
Sahani, however, has consistently defended his innocence and denied any misconduct while speaking with the media. He made it clear that the funds in question came from the sale of land that belonged to his ancestors. Sahani made an effort to clarify the matter by pointing out that the contentious Viral Selfie (photo) was taken in 2014.
