Eight Indian people were given the death penalty by a Qatari court. The Court of First Instance of Qatar rendered a decision in the case involving eight Indian employees of the Al Dahra company today, according to a statement released by India’s foreign ministry.
The MEA stated that “we are deeply shocked by the verdict of death penalty and are awaiting the detailed judgement” . According to the MEA, “We are investigating all legal options and are in contact with the Indians’ families, as well as former Navy officers and the legal team.”
