Tokyo Olympics silver medal winner Mirabai Chana returns to India amid rousing welcome-India in Olympics Mirabai Chanu, an Olympic silver medalist, has returned to the country after her success in Tokyo 2020.  Chanu’s outstanding performance in the women’s 49kg category event at the Tokyo Olympics broke India’s 21-year wait for a Summer Games weightlifting medal.  Employees at Indira Gandhi International Airport welcomed her enthusiastically, chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Mataram for the 26-year-old athlete.  She also had to take the required covid-19 exam. The top weightlifter lifted 202 kgs to win silver, earning India its first medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
